Brand Velocity Links Accelerated Projects and Knowledge Work Productivity

Brand Velocity, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in Accelerated Projects, has identified and emphasized in large organizations that moving faster requires better knowledge work productivity. By moving faster Brand Velocity has concluded that companies can improve their competitive positions, financial results, and market values.

The key, says Brand Velocity CEO Jack Bergstrand, is for organizations to shift their orientations from learning to earning. One of the best ways to increase speed and develop an earning-oriented capability, he says, is to increase the speed and frequency of large projects. “Companies can improve faster by using an accelerated and holistic approach—with a deadline-driven orientation—that includes a clear vision for success, an uncomplicated design to achieve goals, a project management process that systematically builds needed capabilities, and personal skills and accountabilities to operate projects and monetize them,” Bergstrand explains.

To implement Accelerated Projects through better knowledge work productivity, Brand Velocity has also determined that organizational hierarchies require an independent mechanism to speed up decision making across functions and up and down their chains of command. Importantly, this mechanism requires the combination of independence, senior experience on the ground, and an accelerated approach. The linkage between knowledge work productivity and Accelerated Projects is strong, as is the linkage between Accelerated Projects and each company’s competitive position, financial results, and market value.
